Individual Timeline

From the main screen or the Reports menu on Edit pick Other, Timeline (Individual).

The individual timeline will print the birth, marriage, and death dates (and optionally places) for the person you pick and their parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, children and optionally grandchildren and great grandchildren.  It will also show the death dates of grandparents.

You should do a Preview first to see how it will look.  You may need to reduce the number of years per page or else reduce the printer font size to get it to fit correctly.  Then you can print the report after the preview looks correct.

On the page setup screen is an option that says "use less years per page if it will not increase the number of pages."  Here is how this option works.  If, for example, the report spans about 100 years from 1909 to 2009 and if you ask to print 30 years per page, then normally the first three pages would show 90 years, and the fourth page would show only 10 years near the top with room for 20 more years on the last page (which are not needed).  So if the option is turned on to "use less years per page" then even if you asked for 30 years per page, the program would calculate and determine that since it  would require four pages, then it could print 25 years per page and use the same amount of paper with more space for each year.  You might need more space if there are 3 or 4 events in one year.  If the option is turned off, then it prints the number of years per page that you ask for, and leaves blank space at the end of the report.

There are options on the Fields to Include tab.  One option will print the numbers for all the years.  If that option is turned off, it will not print the year (the number) if there were no events in that year.  One option will print the married name of females which may be useful if the report is to be seen by people that are not familiar with the maiden names.
